Slate Grocery REIT to be Acquired in US$2.3 Billion Deal

Take-private follows Slate’s strategic review and competitive auction

Davies is acting as Canadian counsel to Brixmor Property Group and Everview Partners in their all-cash, take-private acquisition of Slate Grocery REIT valued at US$2.3-billion. Under the terms of a definitive agreement, Brixmor and Everview will acquire all the outstanding units of Slate Grocery REIT, a Toronto Stock Exchange-listed real estate investment trust.

The acquisition is expected to close in Q1 of 2027, subject to customary closing conditions and approvals.
