Davies Affiliated Scholar Poonam Puri is named one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women by the Women’s Executive Network (WXN), receiving the award in the “Professionals” category. The WXN Top 100 awards celebrate the accomplishments of professional women across the country by recognizing gifted leaders who inspire women in their communities. This is Poonam’s second time being named to this prestigious list. The first was in 2011, in the “Trailblazers & Trendsetters” category.

Poonam is one of Canada’s leading experts in corporate law and governance and securities law. She is an experienced corporate director on the boards of NASDAQ- and TSX-listed public companies and Chair of the Board of Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. An incisive governance advisor to boards and management teams in a range of sectors, she is also an award-winning researcher and teacher. She is a tenured Professor at Osgoode Hall Law School and the York Research Chair in Corporate Governance, Investor Protection and Financial Markets.

Davies Partners Carol Pennycook and Patricia Olasker appeared on the list also in the “Professionals” category, in 2016 and 2017 respectively.
