What fictional character do you identify most with?

Since binge-watching Schitt’s Creek during the pandemic, I’ve always felt a close affinity towards Alexis Rose. Her sense of humor, confidence and straight-shooter attitude is to be admired. Plus, who wouldn’t want to have Dan Levy as a brother?

Is there an organization that means a lot to you?

During the pandemic, I began volunteering with The 519, a Toronto-based non-profit organization that is committed to the health, happiness and full participation of 2SLGBTQI+ communities in Canada and abroad. I most recently supported the organization by volunteering with The 519’s Among Friends program. In my role, I prepared meals for a bi-weekly peer support group including 100+ queer refugee claimants facing persecution for their sexual orientation or gender identity. Being a queer woman living in Canada, I recognize my privilege and the importance of supporting those whose identity lies at the intersection of multiple marginalizations. I look forward to returning to The 519 this summer as a periodic volunteer support.

If you were not a lawyer, what career would you have chosen?

If I were not a lawyer, I would most likely be working in publishing, ideally at a publication where Vogue meets i-D. Working for MUSE Magazine, a fashion and lifestyle magazine based out of Queen’s University, was the highlight of my undergraduate degree. I like to say that I majored in MUSE and minored in PPE.
