Poonam Puri Honoured Twice
Davies celebrates dual recognitions from York and ACGC
Poonam has been named a Distinguished Research Professor by York University, the highest research distinction conferred by the University. Presented at York’s Spring Convocation, the designation recognizes faculty members whose scholarship has made a significant and lasting impact within their field and beyond.
Poonam, who holds the York Research Chair in Corporate Governance at Osgoode Hall Law School, was recognized for three decades of scholarly leadership that has shaped corporate law, corporate governance and securities regulation in Canada and internationally.
In addition, Poonam has been elected as a Fellow of the American College of Governance Counsel, a prestigious organization of leading governance lawyers from across Canada and the United States. Election as a Fellow recognizes exceptional achievement, professionalism and thought leadership in the field of corporate governance.
These honours add to a distinguished record of recognition that includes appointment to the Order of Ontario, the Institute of Corporate Directors Fellowship Award, the Royal Society of Canada’s Yvan Allaire Medal in Governance and the Law Society Medal.
