Jean-Philippe Joyal Joins Fund Formation Practice

We are pleased to announce that Jean-Philippe Joyal has joined the firm as a partner in the Fund Formation group, a practice which is ranked Band 1 by Chambers Canada.

Jean-Philippe’s practice focuses on fund formation, strategic investments and regulatory issues. He advises managers on the structuring, creation, marketing and management of investment funds. This includes the establishment of open-end and closed-end funds, fund-of-funds structures, special purpose vehicles and separately managed accounts covering multiple classes such as private equity, private credit, venture capital, infrastructure, real estate, renewable energy and many others. He also routinely works with managers on carried interest incentive structuring, governance matters and the purchase and sale of interests in management companies. Furthermore, he has extensive experience in regulatory matters, particularly in the context of registration for investment fund managers, dealers and advisers.
