Lexpert Rising Stars Recognizes Two Davies Partners
Chanakya Sethi and Jared Solinger each received the Lexpert Rising Star: Leading Lawyer Under 40 award at last night’s gala at the Liberty Grand in Toronto. These awards are a testament to their dedication to excellence and their reputations as leaders in their respective practice areas and the wider legal community.
Chanakya Sethi: Focused on high-stakes trials and appeals, Chan has helped lead the defence of multiple bet-the-company, multi-billion-dollar cases involving commercial, competition and class action claims. He has also briefed and argued cutting-edge public law cases. As part of his commitment to pro bono work, Chan has represented criminal defence groups, LGBT rights advocates and disability rights groups. Chan is a volunteer coach for the Osgoode Hall Law School Laskin moot team, a member of the board of directors of the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research and a trustee of The Daily Princetonian. He is recognized by Chambers Canada, Benchmark Litigation and Best Lawyers in Canada. Given the national and cross-border scope of his practice, Chan is admitted to practice law in Ontario, British Columbia and Alberta, and also in New York and the District of Columbia.
Jared Solinger: With a broad practice focused on complex M&A and capital markets transactions, and a particular emphasis on the mining sector, Jared plays a key role in advising leading companies on their transformative, industry-shaping projects around the world. He has acted on many award-winning deals and is recognized as a leading practitioner by publications such as Lexpert Special Edition: Finance and M&A, The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory and Best Lawyers in Canada. Jared has a strong commitment to the mentoring and advancement of young lawyers and students. He is an active member of Davies’ Professional Development Committee, which oversees the development of lawyers from their early years as associates through partnership.
