Carol Pennycook Receives Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2025 Canadian Law Awards

Last night Carol Pennycook was awarded the Dye & Durham Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Lifetime Achievement in the Legal Profession – Private Practice at the 2025 Canadian Law Awards. The award recognizes and celebrates a highly experienced leader who has significantly contributed to advancing Canada's legal profession and “provided visionary strategies and innovative solutions to some of the profession’s most complex challenges.”

Carol’s win is a reflection of the dedication with which she has served her clients, as well as her industry-shaping experience and transformational impact. Over her 40-year career, Carol’s outstanding contributions and commitment to the practice of law have left an indelible mark on both our firm and the profession.

Carol joined Davies in 1986 and focused her practice on finance matters, especially project finance and P3 projects. Her vision and leadership led to the development of one of the first P3 practices in Canada and earned Davies a reputation as trusted and trailblazing counsel, regardless of project location. Carol’s pioneering efforts and legacy of firsts continue to shape legal practice in Canada and beyond, inspiring a new generation of lawyers.
