Davies Mourns Former Managing Partner Mitchell Klein

August 20, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of former managing partner, colleague and friend Mitchell Klein. Mitch died peacefully at the age of 86, on Sunday, August 15, 2021, surrounded by his loved ones.

Mitch was a devoted practitioner, an exemplary professional, a tenacious adversary and a generous mentor and colleague who earned the esteem of both bar and bench.

A well-respected corporate, tax and real estate attorney, Mitch graduated from McGill University in 1961 with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Law. During his legal studies, he also took evening classes to become a chartered accountant. Mitch practised law at the firm for over 45 years, serving as managing partner of Phillips & Vineberg for several years.

Outside his practice, Mitch took on numerous philanthropic causes, including serving for many years on the board of The Maimonides Foundation.

We extend our deepest condolences to Mitch’s family, and join them in mourning the loss of an exceptional man who will be remembered for his outstanding intellect, creative legal mind, kindness and humility.
