The American Lawyer Recognizes Davies’ Cross-Border Work with Two Global Legal Awards
Davies has been honoured by The American Lawyer’s 2017 Global Legal Awards for the firm’s role in two of the past year’s most significant matters.
The firm received Global M&A Deal of the Year: Canada, for representing Fortis Inc. in its acquisition of ITC Holdings Corp. This transformative transaction, structured as a cash and share exchange merger, made Fortis a top-15 North American utility.
The American Lawyer also awarded Davies the Global Dispute of the Year: Transnational Litigation, for its dispute resolution work in the Nortel Networks bankruptcy matter. This award was given jointly to Davies and 13 other firms.
The 2017 Global Legal Awards honours the best cross-border legal work of the year. The awards will be presented on September 25, 2017, at Edison Ballroom in New York City.
