Sandra Forbes Named Litigator of the Year

The 2025 Canadian Law Awards recognizes Forbes’ banner year 

Last night Sandra Forbes was awarded Litigator of the Year at the 2025 Canadian Law Awards in recognition of the “quantity, quality, importance and innovativeness” of her litigation work performed in 2024.

It was a banner year for Sandra, who achieved multiple precedent-setting wins in price-fixing class actions, among other successes. She continues to lead McKesson’s defence in numerous opioid-crisis-related lawsuits across the country, while also acting for the Canadian Real Estate Association in seminal litigation at the national level.

Already recognized among her peers as one of Canada’s top litigators, particularly in competition litigation and class action defence, Sandra is the treasurer and a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and former president of the Advocates’ Society. These titles taken individually are held by very few counsel. Having the distinct honour of all three is a testament to Sandra’s reputation in the legal community. Now she can add last night’s honour to her lengthy list of accomplishments.
