Timothy is most interested in the advocacy component of law – picking apart a complicated problem, crafting an argument and articulating it in a convincing manner.

What myth about Davies would you want to dispel?

I think some people may get the sense that because Davies is a workplace full of highly driven people, it isn’t also a place that champions deep and rich diversity. Davies shows that these are not in contradiction with each other. It is possible to build a workplace environment that is inclusive, motivating, challenging and accommodating. Davies does.

Is there something about you that we would be surprised to learn?

I dabbled in spoken word (aka slam poetry) during my undergraduate degree, and captained Ottawa’s delegation to the 2019 Canadian Festival of Spoken Word.

Where was the last place you travelled?

The last places I visited were Italy and France. I went with my mother; it was her first time in Europe. Something I hope to do for her – and my family more broadly – in this next stage of my life is to find ways to thank them for the innumerable sacrifices they have made to set me up for success.
