Christian Lachance Speaks to La Presse About Impact of Subsidy Cuts on Business Restructurings

In a recent article in La Presse (available in French only), Davies partner Christian Lachance shares his insights on the potential impacts of a reduction in government subsidies on business restructurings and the steps that entrepreneurs can take to preserve their businesses.

Given the divergence in recovery rates across industries and locations, Christian believes that government aid measures should become more targeted “to support the provinces and sectors that need it most.”

Christian suggests that in order to avoid being caught off guard by the winding down of government assistance, entrepreneurs should be proactive and “not wait for the programs to end.”

He adds that during this time business owners should consult professionals to consider possible restructurings and other options to protect their financial health.
