Davies partner Patricia Olasker Quoted in The Globe and Mail About U.S. Rules on Entry of Cannabis Workers

In articles published recently in The Globe and Mail (available to subscribers) and in the Report on Business Cannabis Professional newsletter, Davies partner Patricia Olasker speaks about the U.S. government’s clarification that Canadians employed in the cannabis industry are allowed entry into the United States as long as their travel is for non-work purposes.

“People are now breathing a collective sigh of relief,” Patricia says.

She adds, however, that people should be cautious if they plan to conduct business in the United States. “There is still plenty of risk for lawyers and other advisers travelling to the U.S. to advise companies in the U.S. industry, but that's a manageable risk,” she says. “You can choose to do that or not, without fundamentally affecting your business, within your own borders. An amusing bellwether event will be whether people travel to the U.S. for the famous Las Vegas cannabis conference.”
