Davies Ranks as Elite Canadian Firm in GCR 100 for the 16th Straight Year

The 2024 edition of Global Competition Review (GCR) 100 once again lists Davies as an Elite Canadian Firm—the highest category awarded in the jurisdiction and a ranking the firm has held since 2008, when Canada was first included in the ranking. GCR 100 is a comprehensive listing of the world’s preeminent competition practices.

Davies’ competition, antitrust and foreign investment team comprises some of the most highly regarded lawyers in the field. The team has significant experience with all aspects of the Competition Act and strong competition litigation expertise.

The firm acts in some of the most high-profile and complex transactions and competition litigation matters, as well as in the majority of competition class actions in Canada. Davies represented Shaw Communications Inc. in a landmark trial before the Competition Tribunal and subsequent appeal before the Federal Court of Appeal, challenging the company’s C$26-billion merger with Rogers Communications Inc. This was the largest case ever heard by the Tribunal and the first pre-closing merger challenge to go to trial before the Tribunal.

This year, Davies’ competition team is also recognized by:

  • Chambers Canada (Band 1)
  • Chambers Global (Band 1)
  • The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory
