The rankings reflect our status as a leading Canadian adviser to both activist investors and target companies in big-ticket situations. Recent notable activist campaigns on which the team advised include M&G Investment Management Limited in its successful proxy campaign against Methanex Corporation and Mantle Ridge LP in its engagement with Aramark Corporation culminating in the appointment of five new directors and the appointment of a new CEO. The firm also advised on several high-profile defence engagements in 2019, including TransAlta Corporation in the activist campaign, threatened proxy contest and contested meeting by Mangrove Partners; and Knight Therapeutics Inc. in its successful response to the activist campaign, proxy contest and contested meeting led by Medison Biotech Ltd.
