Gillian Stacey Appointed to Ontario Securities Commission’s Fintech Advisory Committee

Davies partner Gillian Stacey has been selected to serve a one-year term as a member of the Ontario Securities Commission’s (OSC’s) Fintech Advisory Committee (FAC).

An esteemed technology lawyer with decades of experience advising public and private corporations on a broad range of technology transactions, Gillian is well-positioned to apply her insights to the evolving fintech industry. She is regularly engaged by fintech companies for her expertise in such matters as cybersecurity, the Canadian regulatory environment and blockchain technology.

Gillian is also an adjunct professor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, teaching The Legal Challenges of Digital Environments as part of the new Global Professional Master of Laws program in Innovation, Law and Technology.

In her role on the FAC, Gillian will advise the OSC on developments and trends in the fintech space, as well as the unique challenges faced by fintech businesses in the securities industry.
