Download this publication October 29, 2014

The detection and prosecution of cartels is at the top of the international antitrust enforcement agenda. Canada is no exception. The Competition Bureau has significant powers at its disposal to investigate alleged domestic and international cartel conduct and has a robust enforcement record in this area. Of note, the Bureau is increasingly seeking more significant penalties against corporations and targeting individuals for sanction and punishment.

This chapter highlights the legal standards and practical enforcement realities of this critical area of Canadian competition law.
