Article: Joint Ventures and the Competition Act's New Conspiracy Offence

In March 2009, the Canadian Parliament passed legislation incorporating significant amendments to the Competition Act, including important changes to the Act's conspiracy offence. This article discusses the wording of the new conspiracy offence, which came into force on March 12, 2010, that has raised questions about its potentially broad application, especially in relation to joint ventures and other legitimate collaborations between competitors.
