Maurice brings more than 40 years of legal experience to our Canadian and international clients’ commodity tax issues.

Well-known for his ability to solve complex problems, Maurice is often sought after for his expertise in all aspects of commodity tax, including GST/HST, provincial sales tax and excise duties in various industries (real estate, energy, transportation, communication, automobile and high tech).

Maurice has vast experience working as a consultant for Revenue Canada during the legislation review process and implementation of the GST and for Québec’s Ministry of Finance in its reform of the QST, as well as for Finance Canada in the harmonization of the HST tax.

He has spoken regularly at the Association de Planification fiscale et financière Tax Symposium.

Before joining our firm, Maurice worked for a major Canadian accounting firm and presently heads the Microprogram in Consumption Taxes at the Université de Sherbrooke.
