Patricia Olasker Quoted in Wall Street Journal About Cannabis Stock Craze

Davies partner Patricia Olasker spoke recently with the Wall Street Journal about the ongoing cannabis stock craze being fuelled by entrepreneurs and investors rushing headlong into the nascent industry, in what some are likening to the late 1990s dot-com bubble and the recent bitcoin mania.

The article describes how Canada has become a hotbed for the cannabis industry, with a total market value having catapulted from less than $4 billion to nearly $40 billion in the past year. Yet despite all the optimism, Patricia cautions that a shakeout is inevitable. “I believe there’s a great opportunity for our insolvency lawyers in this industry,” she says. “There are going to be lots and lots of failures.”
