Anita Banicevic and Elisa Kearney Recognized in GCR’s Women in Antitrust 2021

Davies partners Anita Banicevic and Elisa K. Kearney are two of only six Canadian women recognized in the 2021 edition of Global Competition Review (GCR)’s Women in Antitrust, an exclusive guide to the world’s top female competition lawyers, economists, academics and enforcers.

  • Anita Banicevic advises clients on all aspects of competition law and foreign investment review, with a particular focus on mergers, abuse of dominance and criminal price-fixing investigations. Considered a leading antitrust lawyer, Anita is frequently engaged to advise on some of the most closely watched and prominent competition cases in Canada. She served as chair of the Competition Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) from 2017 to 2018 and currently serves as a member of the Influence Task Force of the Antitrust Section of the American Bar Association.
  • Elisa Kearney provides strategic advice to clients on the full range of antitrust, consumer protection and foreign investment matters. Known for her impressive breadth of expertise in a variety of competition matters and her proficiency in highly regulated industries, she recently acted as lead Canadian competition counsel for Google LLC in its acquisition of Fitbit, Inc.; Alstom S.A. in its acquisition of Bombardier Transportation; and TRATON SE in its acquisition of Navistar International Corporation. Elisa currently serves as chair of the C.D. Howe Institute’s Competition Policy Council. She is a vice chair on the CBA’s Competition Law Section Executive and a member of the National Cannabis Working Group, an advocacy group established by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce to boost Canada’s competitiveness in the cannabis sector.
