Derek Ricci Wins Telfer School Young Achiever’s Award

The University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of Management has named Derek Ricci the winner of the 2019 Young Achiever’s Award, an honour given to alumni who have achieved greatness in their lives within an exceptional period of time.

Well recognized as a top-tier litigator, Derek has an outstanding track record representing clients in complex and novel commercial cases, including high-profile class actions and international competition disputes. His expert negotiation skills recently contributed to the successful settlement of a $500-million mining dispute, which was recognized by Benchmark Canada as the 2019 “Impact Case of the Year.” Derek is the sole Canadian (Toronto) representative for ICC FraudNet, an elite global network of fraud and asset recovery specialists administered by the International Chamber of Commerce. He is ranked in several leading industry publications and was named Emerging Talent of the Year in 2018 by Benchmark Canada and as one of the 2016 Lexpert Rising Stars: Leading Lawyers Under 40.

Derek will receive the award at the Telfer School’s annual Gala of Excellence on October 19, 2019, at the Shaw Centre in Ottawa.
