Davies Named Canadian Tax Firm of the Year by International Tax Review

Recognizing our outstanding transactional tax work over the past year, International Tax Review presented Davies with the award for Canadian Tax Firm of the Year at the 2019 ITR Americas Tax Awards held on September 19 in New York. The award highlighted our involvement in several groundbreaking transactions, including Barrick Gold Corporation's US$18.3-billion share-for-share merger with Randgold Resources Limited; Apotex International Inc.'s sale of its European generics business to Aurobindo Pharma Limited; and Michelin Group's US$1.7-billion acquisition of Camso Inc.

Davies was also recognized for playing a key role in in two Impact Deals of the Year: Barrick’s merger with Randgold and Aurora Cannabis Inc.’s $2.5-billion acquisition of MedReleaf Corp.

Held annually, the ITR Americas Tax Awards celebrate the top tax practices and deals across the Americas, taking into consideration the value of the transaction, complexity, innovation and impact.
