Patricia Olasker Recognized as One of Canada’s Most Powerful Women

Davies partner Patricia Olasker has been recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women by the Women’s Executive Network (WXN), winning the award in the “Professionals” category. The WXN Top 100 awards celebrate the accomplishments of professional women across Canada by recognizing gifted leaders who inspire women in their communities. This is Patricia’s second time receiving this prestigious honour, the first being in 2009.

As one of Canada’s highest-profile mergers and acquisitions (M&A) lawyers, Patricia leads the country’s most prominent and innovative M&A and shareholder activism transactions. Under her direction, Davies has been involved in every high-profile activist campaign in Canada over the past six years.

Outside the firm, Patricia is a major influence in the development of securities law and policy, working both publicly and behind the scenes with securities regulators to shape the law as it affects capital markets, M&A and shareholder activism.

Patricia is deeply dedicated to community service and is the founder of AIDSbeat, the Toronto legal community’s largest charity event, now in its 21st year. She also holds senior executive and board roles at CANFAR, the Royal Ontario Museum and Osgoode Hall Law School, where she is an adjunct professor teaching Advanced M&A.
