Davies partner Jean-Philippe Groleau was recognized as one of 2017’s Lexpert Rising Stars: Leading Lawyers Under 40 at a ceremony last night in Toronto. The nomination criteria for this prestigious award include the candidates’ legal talent, business acumen, major accomplishments, community participation, interpersonal skills, and the opinions of their peers.

Jean-Philippe is consistently involved in high-stakes, complex cases that often involve a public law component. He has pleaded as lead counsel on an expansive range of issues in such areas as constitutional, criminal and civil law in the Supreme Court of Canada and on municipal, education and consumer law as well as in class actions in the Québec Court of Appeal.

Jean-Philippe holds an LLM with the highest distinction from the University of Cambridge, is an alumnus of Freshfields, a co-founder of a charity that supports development projects in Benin and a member of the Montréal Student Committee and Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
