2020/2021 Articling Class, Toronto
Sarah was drawn to the practice of law by its dynamic and challenging nature and for the opportunity it offers to learn throughout one’s career.
She chose Davies because the firm’s generalist approach not only gives students the opportunity to explore different practice areas, but also empowers its lawyers to build on their areas of interest to best serve clients’ diverse needs.
While in law school, Sarah received the Charles Edward Woodrow Award for academic excellence and the Harry R. Rose Prize for highest standing in Criminal Law.
What experience, job or internship have you learned the most from or found most rewarding?
Prior to attending law school, I spent three years working aboard Celebrity Cruise ships. I had the opportunity to travel across six continents and to further develop my strong work ethic, client relations skills and cultural sensitivity.
What are you most looking forward to during your time at Davies?
I am most looking forward to learning – and developing my personal style and expertise – under the guidance of some of the greatest, most innovative lawyers in their field.
Where did you last travel to?
Last summer, I completed a legal placement in Bangalore, India, through Osgoode’s International Legal Partnerships program. There, I conducted an independent legal research project on alcohol-related issues in India and provided recommendations for the organization as it moves forward.
