About the Position

We are looking for a legal assistant to join the Corporate Services group in our Montréal office. Reporting to the Director, Corporate Services, Corporate Group the successful applicant will work closely with our corporate paralegals, providing assistance on files dealing with corporate and transactional aspects related to the commercial operations of our clients.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist corporate paralegals in preparing all forms and legal documents pertaining to corporate files and complete filings with federal and provincial governments
  • Maintain electronic and physical minute books and corporate files
  • Perform searches in various government databases
  • Enter corporate data in the legal entity management application
  • Assist in special projects
  • Perform other general administrative and clerical responsibilities, such as processing mail received on behalf of corporate clients, preparing correspondence, processing invoices, corresponding with third party agents on all invoicing and payment matters, and handling printing and filing responsibilities
  • Answer and transfer incoming calls

Qualifications

  • Attestation of Collegial Studies (ACS) in legal secretarial studies; Diploma of Collegial Studies (DCS) in office systems technology; Diploma of Collegial Studies (DCS) in paralegal technology
  • Certificate of Law would be an asset
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English *The position involves providing service to internal and external clients both in and outside Québec, hence verbal and written proficiency in both languages is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and Acrobat Pro
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and work within tight deadlines
  • Team Player
