Intern, Marketing & Business Development

We are currently seeking an intern to join the Marketing & Business Development team in our Toronto office on a paid contract, full-time basis. The successful candidate will provide administrative and operational support to the department and must have exceptional client service skills, a high degree of initiative and excellent interpersonal skills to interact with clients and individuals of all levels at the firm.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide general administrative support to the team in preparing documents, photocopying, sorting mail and filing
  • Assist in organizing, printing and distributing marketing and business development materials, including pitches and proposals, adhering to quality standards and operational procedures
  • Develop and maintain department operational documentation, adhering to firm policies and standards
  • Assist with tracking, updating and maintaining various databases
  • Assist with events, as required, by providing support to the Manager, Events & Sponsorships, in coordinating lawyer/client events and conferences
  • Conduct research and provide recommendations to department directors on marketing, communications and business development opportunities as requested
  • Participate and contribute to other projects as assigned

Skills/Knowledge/Experience Required

  • University degree with a specialization in Business Administration, Marketing, and/or Communications
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an exceptional client service focus and ability to interact with individuals of all levels
  • High degree of attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to deliver quality work in a high pressure and deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
  • Strong multi-tasking and time management skills to be able to juggle multiple priorities for various individuals in the department
  • Strong work ethic and “can-do” attitude in assisting the team with various projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Outlook and Word, and strong computer skills to learn new software
