Intern, Communications, Marketing & Client Development

We are seeking an aspiring communications or marketing professional who has recently graduated with a related post-secondary degree or diploma to join our Toronto office on a paid, one year contract. The successful candidate will support the Communications, Marketing and Client Development team on a wide variety of related tasks and initiatives. The candidate must be polished and professional, demonstrate excellent client service and interpersonal skills and a high level of initiative.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist in organizing, printing and distributing marketing and business development materials, including pitches and proposals, adhering to quality standards and operational procedures
  • Assist team with developing and posting social media content
  • Use design software including Canva and Photoshop to edit and crop images as needed
  • Work with team to keep the firm’s CRM system up to date by analyzing and resolving data quality issues, including the processing of email bounce-backs
  • Provide support the Manager, Events & Sponsorships on lawyer/client events as needed
  • Develop and maintain department operational documentation
  • Assist with tracking, updating and maintaining various databases
  • Conduct research and provide recommendations to department directors on marketing, communications and business development opportunities as requested
  • Provide general administrative support to the team in preparing documents, photocopying, sorting mail and filing
  • Participate and contribute to other projects as assigned

Skills/Knowledge/Experience Required

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a marketing, communications or related discipline
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an exceptional client service focus and ability to interact with individuals of all levels
  • High degree of attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to deliver quality work in a high pressure and deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
  • Strong multi-tasking and time management skills to be able to juggle multiple priorities for various individuals in the department
  • Strong work ethic and “can-do” attitude in assisting the team with various projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Outlook and Word, and strong computer skills to learn new software
