Alan Golden is a partner in the Corporate/Commercial, Commercial Real Estate and Corporate Governance practices. He advises clients on corporate governance, duties of directors and shareholder agreements. His real estate practice is devoted to advising on acquisitions, dispositions and on co-ownership agreements. Alan also advises extensively on the non-tax aspects of wills and trusts and on succession planning.

Acted as counsel to the Molson brothers, Geoff, Andrew and Justin, in connection with the acquisition of the Montréal Canadiens Hockey Club by the investment group led by the Molson brothers. This transaction is considered to be one of the most significant acquisitions ever completed in professional sports in North America. The transaction also included the purchase of the Montréal Bell Centre and the Gillett Entertainment Group.
Acted for Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services, Inc. and Hydro-Québec Pension Fund in connection with the acquisition from SITQ National Inc. of the the 640,000 sq. ft. office tower located at 1981 McGill College Avenue in Montréal, Québec.
Acted for BCE Inc. and Bell Canada in connection with a proposed $51.7-billion take-private acquisition of BCE by way of a plan of arrangement with an investor group led by Teachers' Private Capital. Successfully defended the transaction in related court proceedings brought by Bell Canada bondholders, and secured a precedent-setting decision from the Supreme Court of Canada.
