Davies was named as part of the 2012 Financial Deal of the Year for its role as legal advisors to Maple Group Acquisition Corporation in its acquisition of TMX Group and, as part of the 2012 Consumer Business Deal of the Year for its role as legal advisors to Alimentation Couche-Tard in its acquisition of Statoil Fuel and Retail ASA (SFR) of Norway.

Davies hit the centre of Lexpert®/ALM 500 bull's eye again as one of Canada's leading corporate firms
The 2013 Lexpert/American Lawyer Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada profiled 29 Davies lawyers and was named the leading corporate transactions firm in both Toronto and Montréal, relative to firm size. As well, Lexpert ranked the Toronto office at the centre of the bull’s-eye for corporate law and corporate transactions and rated the Montréal office as having the top tax practice in Montréal.

Davies Wins ''Merger Control Matter of the Year - Americas'' Award from Global Competition Review
Davies has received an award from Global Competition Review for "Merger Control Matter of the Year - Americas". The award, which is based on votes cast by antitrust lawyers around the world, recognizes Davies' work as Canadian counsel for Google Inc. with respect to competition and regulatory matters in connection with its $700-million acquisition of ITA Software.
The “Merger Control Matter of the Year – Americas" Award category recognizes creative, strategic and innovative competition work on a landmark merger control matter in which the target was based in the Americas.
Anita Banicevic Named to Global Competition Review's 40 Under 40
Davies partner Anita Banicevic has been recognized by Global Competition Review in their "40 Under 40" rankings for 2012, which seek to identify the world's most talented young competition lawyers.
Anita is one of only four Canadian lawyers - and 14 women in total - to make this year's list. She was selected out of more than a thousand nominations submitted to GCR by firms, antitrust lawyers and in-house counsel for inclusion on GCR's shortlist of nominees which was sent to a group of internationally ranked lawyers and economists for voting that determined the 2012 honourees.

Project Finance magazine awarded the 2011 North American Social Infrastructure Deal of the Year award to the $1.13-billion contract of an infrastructure rollout for the new headquarters of Canada’s national cryptologic agency, in which Davies acted as consortium counsel for Plenary Properties LTAP LP.

On September 21, Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg was awarded a 2011 Lexpert® Zenith Award in the category of Innovative Student Programs. The award is in recognition of the firm's Student Affairs department in Montréal for its annual student social responsibility initiative in which students and stagiaires coordinate and execute a volunteer project to benefit a charitable organization of their choice.
