      Acted as counsel to the Molson brothers, Geoff, Andrew and Justin, in connection with the acquisition of the Montreal Canadiens Hockey Club by the investment group led by the Molson brothers. This transaction is considered to be one of the most significant acquisitions ever completed in professional sports in North America. The transaction also included the purchase of the Montreal Bell Centre and the Gillett Entertainment Group.

      Acted for BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc. and a syndicate of dealers as Metro Inc. filed a short-form base shelf prospectus which established a $750 million medium term note program. Metro later accessed the program completing an offering of an aggregate of $600 million of notes, of which $200 million are due 2015 and $400 million are due 2035. The issue of $400 million of 30-year notes by Metro represents the first 30-year debt financing in Canada by a BBB-rated issuer. The notes were offered by a syndicate of dealers led by BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc. and Merrill Lynch Canada Inc.   2005

      Acted for GDF Suez (formerly Gaz de France) in connection with a $900 million Rabaska project developed by Gaz Métro, Enbridge Inc. and Gaz de France, which consists of the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of a deep water jetty to accommodate tankers carrying liquefied natural gas (LNG) as well as pipes connecting the jetty to two reservoirs, where the LNG will be stored and regasified for incorporation into the Québec and Ontario pipeline network.   2004
