Cameron Rusaw is a partner practising corporate and commercial law. Cam has acted for several large public and private clients of the firm in a broad range of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, financings, joint ventures, corporate reorganizations, private equity transactions, venture capital investments, strategic alliances, outsourcings and information technology transactions.
A significant portion of Cam's practice is focused on private equity transactions. He has represented several Canadian and US private equity funds in cross border and domestic acquisitions, investments, as well as divestitures and other exit transactions. Cam has had a great deal of experience generally in international and cross-border transactions, acting for Canadian and foreign clients on a variety of acquisitions, divestitures, financings and joint ventures. Cam has also led numerous transactions in the information technology and telecommunications industry, including venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances and outsourcings, on behalf of a variety of clients ranging from start-up companies and venture capital firms to major technology and telecommunications companies.
Recently, Cam represented Morgan Stanley in its acquisition of a controlling interest in Three Sisters Mountain Village, a major real estate development near Banff, Alberta, Thomas H. Lee Partners in its US $5.3 billion acquisition of Ceridian Corp., and Patheon Inc. in its US $150 million private placement to JLL Partners and concurrent US $250 million refinancing with JP Morgan Securities. He has also represented Patheon in a number of acquisitions and divestitures, including its US$350 million acquisition of MOVA Pharmaceutical Corporation and the related $245.9 million public offering of common shares and US$169 million credit facilities. He has also represented Patheon in the negotiation of long-term manufacturing service outsourcing contracts with and acquisitions of manufacturing facilities from Aventis Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Novartis Pharmaceuticals Canada Inc. Cam also represented Xceed Mortgage Corporation in its initial and secondary public offerings.
Cam is actively involved in firm management. He is a former member of the firm's Management Committee, the current Clair of the firm's Evaluation Committee and the former Chair of the firm's Student Committee. He also has taught or guest lectured business law courses at Queen's Law School, Osgoode Hall Law School and Dalhousie Law School. Cam is recognized in the 2008

Cam has a B.A. in History and Economics from Queen's University and an LL.B. from Queen's University. He became a partner in 1992.
