Alain Roberge is a partner with a practice focused in corporate/commercial and corporate finance and secured transactions. In addition to his work in the corporate and commercial fields, Alain has substantial expertise in the areas of banking, structured finance and private international law.

Alain is the author of two publications dealing with secured lending and securitization: “Les sûretés réelles, en pratique, au premier anniversaire du Code civil du Québec” in Le nouveau Code civil du Québec: un bilan (1995) and “La titrisation des créances” in Le droit bancaire, Service de formation Yvon Blais (November 30, 1995). He has also spoken extensively on these matters.

Alain is recognized in the Canadian Legal LEXPERT Directory as a repeatedly recommended lawyer in the fields of asset and equipment finance and leasing, asset securitization, as well as banking and property development. He is also listed as a leading lawyer in The Best Lawyers in Canada guide in the fields of banking law, real estate law and structured finance law. Alain has achieved one of Martindale-Hubbell’s highest rankings.

Alain obtained his B.C.L. and LL.B. from McGill University in 1985 and received the Thomas Alexander Rowat Award and the Caron Memorial Prize in his graduating year. During 1984 and 1985, Alain was a member of the editorial staff of the McGill Law Journal. Alain joined the firm in 2002.
