Gerold Goldlist is a partner and has a wide-ranging corporate/commercial practice with an emphasis on mergers & acquisitions, private equity, gaming and secured financing transactions.  Gerold has extensive expertise in international and cross-border transactions, acting for Canadian and foreign clients on a variety of acquisitions, divestitures, financings and joint ventures.  He acts for a number of manufacturing companies, private equity firms and gaming corporations.

Gerold's corporate practice has also extended into the area of public/private development projects.  His experience in the public sector includes advising government agencies and Crown corporations on legislative and policy matters as well as being engaged in all aspects of government proposal calls and the related selection processes.  Among other matters, he acts for Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, an agent of the Province of Ontario, which conducts and manages casinos and lotteries in that province.  He has had extensive involvement in negotiating the agreements relating to each of the casino complexes developed in the province, including the Niagara Falls and Windsor Casinos and Casino Rama which is located on First Nations Land.  Gerold has most recently been involved in all aspects of the development, financing and operation of the Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort (approximately $1 billion) and the re-branding of Caesars Windsor.

Gerold has co-authored a number of papers and has lectured at numerous professional conferences and seminars on financings and legal opinions relating to commercial transactions.  He has also co-authored articles in the gaming area entitled "Roll Again: New Developments Concerning Gaming" and "Privatizing the Gaming Industry – Is it in the Cards?".  He is also on the Editorial Board of Canadian Corporation Precedents, a Carswell publication.
 
Gerold has received Martindale-Hubbell's highest ranking.  Gerold is also recognized in LEXPERT Magazine's The Best Lawyers in Canada.

Gerold received an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School (Silver Medallist) in 1980. He became a partner of the firm in 1984.
