Marc Berger is a partner in the New York office in the corporate and commercial law group. Marc practices primarily in the areas of mergers and acquisitions and commercial real estate joint ventures, covering a wide range of business transactions, including those involving acquisitions, structuring and dispositions of hotels, REITs and private real estate funds. Marc has been with Davies since 1996 and became a partner of the firm in 2002.
Marc's practice also includes commercial lending, acting for both borrowers and lenders for mortgage and mezzanine real property loans and for asset-based loans in facilities of all sizes. He also advises clients on structured finance transactions and other general commercial matters, including serving as outside "in house" counsel to clients for their key business contracts. Since 2001, Marc has acted as one of the principal lawyers for the U.S. real estate acquisitions, joint venture structuring and related lending for various divisions of the Caisse de Dépôt et placement du Québec. Marc has also acted for both employers and executives in negotiating executive compensation arrangements.
Marc earned his B.Sc. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1985. He earned his J.D. (
magna cum laude) at Brooklyn Law School in 1994. Marc was awarded a fellowship by the law school's Center for the Study of International Business Law in 1992. He is a member of the American Bar Association.
