Shawn McReynolds is a partner practising in the areas of mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance and securities law with an emphasis upon mergers, acquisitions, restructurings and financings of public companies. He has represented both issuers and underwriters in numerous domestic and international public and private financings and regularly advises public companies and institutional investors on corporate governance issues. He has also represented acquirors, targets, controlling shareholders and committees of independent directors in numerous public companies' mergers and acquisitions, both negotiated and unsolicited.

Shawn is a former Chairman of the Securities Advisory Committee to the Ontario Securities Commission. He is a former Lecturer in Securities Regulation at McGill University and Adjunct Professor at Osgoode Hall Law School. He is featured in Law Business Research's International Who's Who of Capital Markets Lawyers, Euromoney Legal Group's Guide to the World's Leading Capital Market Lawyers, LEXPERT/American Lawyer Media's Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada, Global Counsel 3000 and IFLR 1000's Guide to the World's Leading Financial Law Firms.

Shawn earned a B.A. in 1975 at the Royal Military College of Canada and earned an LL.B. in 1982 from McGill University.  He became a partner in 1986.
