Denis Ferland is a partner of Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP. As a member of the Montréal financial restructuring and insolvency practice group, he specializes in bankruptcy and insolvency law, financial restructuring, banking and commercial law, financial services and commercial litigation.

Throughout his career, Denis has advised many multinational companies, financial institutions, creditors and Court officers such as trustees, monitors and receivers. His assistance and advice have paved the way for a great number of restructurings and reorganizations as well as many transactions. He has helped many companies and institutions reach their goals. Denis’ expertise, experience and personality make him a sought-after speaker. His speeches cover a variety of subjects such as insolvency litigation, financing and restructuring strategy, and the evolution of applicable jurisprudence. He has also made presentations to the Insolvency Division of the Canadian Bar association, the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals. He also teaches at Laval University and National Insolvency Qualification Program – PNRPI.

Denis was called to the Quebec Bar in 1984, having completed his LL.B. at Université Laval in 1983.
