Michael is a partner practising corporate and commercial law. In addition, throughout his career, Michael has had extensive ongoing involvement in legal research at the firm. He has written and lectured extensively on legal opinions and was a member of the Canadian Bar Association - Ontario Personal Property Security Opinion Committee that produced the
Personal Property Security Opinion Report. He has also participated in many conferences and published papers relating to corporate and commercial law, including "Securities Transfers in the Modern Market" (with Janet Holmes) for the 1997 Queen's Annual Business Law Symposium and "The Unanimous Shareholder Agreement: A Promise Unfulfilled?",

Michael received a B.A. from the University of Toronto in 1975 and an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1978. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1980 and has practised at the firm ever since becoming a partner in 1982.
