Steven H. Levin
 
 
Steven Levin is a partner specializing in corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures.  He also regularly advises clients on commercial real estate matters. Steve opened the New York office of the firm in 1984.

Steve has represented a broad range of companies, with a particular emphasis on foreign companies transacting business in the United States and internationally.  In particular, Steve regularly represents Cadim (a Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec company) in its joint ventures (both U.S. and international), including its purchase of a 50% interest in the Praedium Group, its purchase of a 75% interest in CWCapital, its joint ventures with Westmont Hospitality Group, Vornado and TCG, Stonehenge Partners, Williams Realty Advisors and Starwood Capital Group, as well as in numerous property acquisitions.  Steve also represented Amcor Limited, an Australian company that is one of the largest packaging companies in the world in a series of acquisitions and divestitures, including the EUR1.75 billion acquisition of the PET and closures business of Schmalbach-Lubeca (involving the purchase of 58 companies in 26 countries), the £260 million acquisition of the flexibles healthcare business of Rexam PLC and the sale of its White Cap closures business in the United States and its European closures business.  Additionally, Steve has assisted AbitibiBowater, the world's largest newsprint producer, in many of its U.S. transactions, including joint ventures, acquisitions, divestitures and structured finance transactions.

Steve graduated from the American University Law School in 1978 and is admitted to practice in New York State.  He also has taught as an adjunct faculty member at American University Law School.
