Since joining the firm as a student in 2005, Matthew has worked on a variety of transactions, including securities offerings, share and asset sales, acquisitions and financings, public-private infrastructure projects and acquisitions and dispositions of commercial real estate holdings.

In particular, he assisted in the sale of retail space in 35 shopping centres by Wal-Mart Canada Realty Inc. and First Professional Realty Inc. to Calloway Real Estate Investment Trust for approximately $1.12 billion. Matthew also played a role in the completion of a public offering of shares by Khan Resources Inc. for gross proceeds of approximately $30 million. In addition to his transactional work, Matthew has also co-authored, with Jeffrey Lem, annotations on a variety of real estate law cases for the Real Property Reports.

Matthew graduated with a B.A. in Economics (Great Distinction, Dean's Honour List) from McGill University in 2002 and received his B.C.L. and LL.B. (Great Distinction, Dean's Honour List) from McGill University in 2006. He articled with the firm and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2007.
