Elliot A. Greenstone
 
 
Elliot Greenstone is a partner specializing in corporate, commercial and securities law. Since joining Davies, he has been involved in a number of transactions with both public and private companies including debt and equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances and collaborations. Elliot also advises clients regarding licensing and product development.

Most recently, Elliot has been involved in the acquisition of La Senza by Limited Brands, a $20 million public offering by MethylGene, the initial public offering of BTB Real Estate Investment Trust, the sale by a subsidiary of Hydro-Québec of its interests in hydro generation and transmission companies in Panama and the public offering by Cogeco Cable of approximately $200 million of subordinate voting shares where he acted for the syndicate of underwriters.

Prior to joining Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg, Elliot was an associate in another prominent Canadian law firm where he was involved in a number of high profile transactions.

Elliot's non-law related publications include "Therapeutic Interventions Aimed at Reducing Airway Smooth Muscle Growth", published in the Monaldi Archives for Chest Disease as well as "Retention Strategies in Aerospace Turnover: A Case Study", published in Career Development International.

Elliot was called to the Quebec Bar in 2003 and is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Lord Reading Law Society. He has served as a return guest lecturer at the John Molson School of Business, teaching a class on the protection of intellectual property to undergraduate and M.B.A. students. Elliot is a member of the firm's student recruitment committee.

Elliot graduated with a B.Sc. (with Distinction) in Physiology from McGill University in 1997 and received his M.Sc. in Physiology from the same institution in 1999. He obtained his M.B.A. from the John Molson School of Business (Concordia University) in 2002 while simultaneously completing his LL.B. studies at the Université de Montréal where he received the Leger Robic Richard Excellence in Intellectual Property Award. Elliot became a partner in 2007.

Fully bilingual, Elliot represents French- and English-speaking clients.
