Greg Harnish is a partner practising in the corporate finance and securities group.
Greg has transactional experience in the areas of public and private mergers and acquisitions, private equity, securitization, and domestic and international private placements and public offerings. In addition, he has advised the boards of public companies in connection with public disclosure, corporate governance and director liability issues.
In 2006, Greg was part of the team which advised the special committee of Minacs Worldwide Inc. in connection with the successful negotiated take-over bid for the company by AV TransWorks Ltd. He has served as corporate and securities counsel to Global Alumina Corporation in connection with numerous cross-border private placements and a $100 million loan facility agreement.
In the area of private equity, Greg has experience in fund formation and investment transactions and has represented fund sponsors in connection with the establishment and structuring of private investment funds.
Greg was also involved in the $1.2 billion plan of arrangement effecting the conversion of CML Healthcare Inc. into an income trust and the concurrent spin-out to shareholders of Cipher Pharmaceuticals Inc.
Greg received a B.A. in History and an LL.B. from Dalhousie University. Greg summered and articled with the firm and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2004. He became a partner in 2007. During his time at Dalhousie, Greg was actively involved in the Domus Legis Society as a member of its executive committee. He is currently active in the Toronto committee of the Save The Domus Legis Campaign.
