Robert J. Druzeta
 
 
Robert Druzeta practises in the areas of corporate and securities law.  He works on a variety of matters, including public and private securities offerings, asset acquisitions and divestitures and corporate reorganizations.  He also provides advice and assistance to public and private companies with respect to their ongoing corporate and securities law obligations, as well as advice to companies and individuals with respect to dealer and adviser registration requirements.

Recently, Rob has been involved with several initial public offerings of securities.  He assisted Xceed Mortgage Corporation with respect to its $40 million offering of common shares and assisted the underwriting syndicates with respect to the Richards Packaging Income Fund $85 million offering of units, the Gienow Windows & Doors Income Fund $165 million offering of units and the Altus Group Income Fund $75 million offering of units.

Rob has also provided advice to numerous issuers, both Canadian and foreign, with respect to the private sale of securities in Canada, including in connection with the formation of Birch Hill Equity Partners III, LP and its private offering of approximately $800 million in partnership interests.

Rob was also involved with the reorganization of the Ivaco group of companies which involved a sale of assets valued at approximately $375 million.  Rob has also worked on the share capital reorganization of Agricore United, which involved a same-day share consolidation and subsequent share split in order to reduce the number of shareholders with holdings under 100 shares.

In 2005 Rob co-authored "Recent Cases of Note in Canada and the United States" and was a speaker at The Law Society of Upper Canada's The Twelve-Minute Securities Lawyer conference.  In 2004 Rob authored "Canada Gets the Short End of the TRIPS Stick", a paper published in the Appeal Law Review.

Rob received his LL.B. in 2003 from the University of Western Ontario and graduated with Distinction.  After articling with Davies, he returned to the firm as an associate in 2004.
