The Montréal office participates in Career Days at Université Laval, Université de Montréal, Université d’Ottawa, Université de Sherbrooke and McGill University in January and early February of each year. 

In certain universities, we host a coffee house, “5 à 7” or other recruiting events.  For example, we sponsored a trip to New York city for the Association des Étudiants et Étudiantes en droit de l'Université Laval, we organized an open house for students of the Université de Montréal as well as for students of the Université de Sherbrooke.  We have conducted cv workshops at the University of Ottawa as well as at McGill.

Davies Montréal is a party to the Entente de recrutement among major law firms in Montréal, which sets the dates for interviews and offers for most students. As a general rule, the Entente covers all students except those in their last year of law school.  As required by the Entente, we do not accept applications from students in their first year of law school. 

In 2008, interviews for stage will start on Monday, March 10 2008 and offers will be made on Monday, March 31, 2008. We do not set a deadline for accepting offers – we know this is an important decision and once we have offered you a stage position, we hope you will take as much time as you need to make up your mind.  Exceptionally, we may interview some candidates outside of the standard recruiting period if the Entente permits or if they are not covered by the Entente (e.g., students in their last year of law school, masters’ students and candidates transferring from another jurisdiction).
