On June 25, The Honourable Diane Finley, Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development,  announced the appointment of David A. Brown as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Canadian Employment Insurance Financing Board (CEIFB).

David is a partner with Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP. He is the past Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC), founding chair of the Council of Governors for the Canadian Public Accountability Board, and current Chair of the Auditing and Assurance Standards Oversight Council. David also sits on a number of other boards including the University Health Network, the Public Policy Forum, and the Dean's Advisory Council for Osgoode Hall Law School.
