Montréal, June 1st 2009 –
William Brock, partner of the Montréal litigation group at Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg, has been chosen by the Québec Bar’s General Council to receive the honorary title of
Advocatus Emeritus. Mr. Brock is the fourth member of the firm, after Maryse Bertrand, Lucien Bouchard and Guy Du Pont, to receive this prestigious designation. The award ceremony was held on Thursday, May 28th at the Sheraton in Montréal, during the Québec Bar’s annual meeting.
Created by the Bar in 2007, the designation
Advocatus Emeritus recognizes the careers of members who are renowned for their professional excellence as well as their continued and outstanding contribution to the profession. This honorary title also aims to promote the image of the legal profession by celebrating its most deserving members.
