Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP has been named as part of the 2007 Deal Team of the Year for its role as lead counsel to Fortis Inc. in the $3.7 billion acquisition by Fortis of Terasen Inc. from Houston-based Kinder Morgan Inc.  The winning deal team was chosen by a panel of judges in recognition of excellence in the art of deal making.  The award was presented at the inaugural Canadian Dealmakers Gala in Toronto, sponsored by Deloitte, Lexpert, The Globe and Mail and Thomson Financial.
