Quarterly Executive Survey Reveals Views on the Canadian Dollar

December 10, 2007

December 10, 2007 - Results from the 2007 fourth quarter Report on Business C-Suite Survey, sponsored by Davies and KPMG, were announced today.  This survey, focusing on the Canadian dollar, was conducted during the second and third week of November when the dollar was trading between US$1.01 and US$1.08.

Vincent Mercier, from Davies' Toronto office, will appear on a Business News Network (BNN) special presentation at 8:30 p.m. (Eastern) this evening as part of an expert panel to discuss the findings.  Visit the BNN website and view the discussion (available Tuesday, December 11).

This quarterly survey of CEOs, CFOs and COOs reports on the views of executives from some of Canada's largest companies.  The survey seeks the views of C-Suite executives on issues, including:

  • the impact of the high Canadian dollar and its effect on the bottom line
  • measures to address a high dollar
  • policy responses to the high dollar
  • charitable giving

This survey also continues to track their views on:

  • expectations for the Canadian and U.S. economies
  • impressions and confidence in Federal Finance Minister Jim Flaherty
