Canadian securities regulators are working towards finalizing significant new disclosure requirements in the form of Multilateral Instrument 52-111 - Management Reports Over Internal Controls on Financial Reporting.   These requirements will affect all TSX issuers not currently in compliance with the US Sarbanes-Oxley reporting requirements.  The implementation of these requirements will be costly.  They will be time intensive.  They will require a significant amount of management time.

In this webcast, Davies partners Carol Hansell (Toronto) and Guy Lander (New York) and managing directors Carmen Rossiter (Toronto) and Lynn Bruneau (New York) of Protiviti Independent Risk Consulting will answer important questions relating to these new rules.  It will also include special guest Andrew Kriegler, Managing Director of Moody's Investors Service.  Questions we will address include:

  • What are the important aspects of the reports?
  • What significance do the capital markets place on the reports?
  • What are the lessons learned from the US experience?
  • What can you do to prepare?
